    — Bright drops of amber fall to the ground from their [the Heliades’] eyes; on the sand these are dried by the sun, and when the waters of the dark lake wash over the shores, as they are driven by the breath of the groaning wind, then the swelling current rolls all the amber into the Eridanos.
