Zaza
名词 n.
英文释义
名词 n.
- A member of an ethnic minority of Iranian origin in eastern Turkey.
词源
From Zazaki Zaza. Several hypotheses exist for the etymology of the word:
* It might be an exonym of non-Iranian substrate (possibly Northwest Caucasian or Northeast Caucasian) origin
* It may stem from the name of a Kurdish tribe called “Ekrad-i Zaza”,
* or a clipping of the term Zozan al-Akrad
* or an exonym meaning "stuttering" or "speaking unintelligibly", as the term Zaza is considered derogatory. Zazas prefer to call their language Zazaki Dımliki, while the people are called Zazaki Dımli (“Dimlî”), which could be related to the Iranian tribe Daylamites.
