    — Areas including Kitzbühel, Kitzsteinborn, Davos, Seefeld and even Europe's highest resort, Val Thorens, have used “snowfarming”–where, at the end of winter, remaining snow is collected in a huge pile, or “snow depot”, then insulated using various combinations of woodchips, sawdust, hard insulation boards, waterproof plastic and fleece blankets.
