shuka

名词 n.

英文释义

名词 n.
  1. A sash (decorative length of cloth) worn in parts of Africa.
    — I don't know when the change to un-greased shukas took place, but images of Maasai in the 50s show some wearing loose, ungreased shukas—maybe earlier than that. Even now, some are greased and others not. “Cotton” shukas were worn up until the mid‐90s when the manufacturers switched to a woolly textured synthetic—probably acrylic.
