    — A landmark in the inclusion of overt LGBTQ material in musical film was 1972's Cabaret, in which Bob Fosse and screenwriter Jay Presson Allen reinserted the bisexuality of Christopher Isherwood’s hero into the film (the original Broadway musical had thoroughly heterosexualized him, though recent revivals have re-queered him to varying degrees).
