  1. A sum that is a logical OR of a set of variables where each individual variable only appears once in the sum, either in complemented or uncomplemented form, so that the value of the sum becomes 0.
    — All the maxterms in a product of maxterms should have the same variables, although each maxterm should differ from every other one by the pattern of complementation of those variables.
