  1. Synonym of Qinghai.
    — The Tibetans, defeated in 700 by the Chinese general T’ang Hiu-ying, had sue for peace in 702, but war broke out again almost at once. In 737 the Chinese won a great victory over them west of the Koko Nor, and in 746 the Chinese general Wang Chung-tsu defeated them once more in the same region.
