词源

From Russian Итуру́п (Iturúp), itself from Ainu エツ゚ヲロㇷ゚シㇼ (Etuworop-sir, “island with many capes”). Doublet of Etrof, from the Japanese rendition of the same Ainu toponym, Japanese 択捉 (Etorofu).
