    — Some recent publications, like the Stillmann–Gode “At Sight” series, which stimulate the layman's interest in foreign languages, have made clever use of the cognateship relation between the Romance languages and English. Once this fact has been discovered by the students, i.e., after the very first lesson, they will be inclined to go to the extreme of considering all cognates to be identical twins of English words.
