— In 1786, Lin Shuangwen staged an armed uprising in Taiwan. Previously, he had been a leader of the Heaven and Earth Society in Zhanghua, Taiwan. The organization was also known as the Triad Society, a popular, secret group that had its beginning during the reign of Kang Xi.
