Stour Provost

专有名词

英文释义

专有名词
  1. A village and civil parish (served by The Stours Grouped Parish Council) in Dorset, England, previously in North Dorset district (OS grid ref ST7921).

词源

Recorded as Sture Preauus in 1270, an estate on the River Stour held by the Norman abbey of Préaux, later passed to the provost of King's College, Cambridge, so the affix must have been changed accordingly.
