— In describing activities by revolutionary committees at various levels, the report gave several brief accounts of how the Iliang County Revolutionary Committee decided to send a comfort team to a remote area where only three PLA fighters were maintaining the telephone lines; how the responsible persons of a certain county crossed the Nuchiang River and scaled the high Kaolikung Mountain to comfort a small PLA group in an outpost; and how Menghai County Revolutionary Committee in Hsishuangpanna Tai Autonomous Chou repeatedly invited representatives of the local PLA units to symposiums held by the revolutionary committee to solicit the PLA's opinion on its work. PLA personnel in Menghai County, according to the report, also helped the local people overcome many difficulties when the county was ravaged by a severe storm in 1971.
