Long Crendon

专有名词

英文释义

专有名词
  1. A village and civil parish in Buckinghamshire, England, previously in Aylesbury Vale district, and bordering Thame in South Oxfordshire (OS grid ref SP6908).

词源

Recorded as Credendone in 1086 (DB), from a man named Creoda + Old English dūn. The affix, for the length of the village, was added in the 17th century, apparently to distinguish it from Grendon Underwood, some distance to the north.
