IBW

— For approximately 30 years, the WDA was responsible for encouraging business development and investment in Wales. It was abolished in 2006 by the Welsh Government. Its international remit was transferred to the newly created International Business Wales (IBW), which sat within the then Department for the Economy and Transport. At the end of 2010, IBW ceased to exist as a separate entity and its activities were subsumed into the Welsh Government’s Department for Business, Enterprise, Technology and Science, now the Department for Economy, Science and Transport.
