  1. A mountain pass in the Highlands of Scotland, known as the Pass of Drumochter, Drumochter Pass or Drumochter Summit, which is crossed by both the A9 road and the main railway line between Perth and Inverness (OS grid ref NN6376).
    — After an overnight in Inverness we returned to Edinburgh via the Highland Main Line, where Drumochter looked cold but spectacular with its rocks, mountains and snow. It was all very John Buchan!
